He has over 40 years of experience in consultancy and applied economic research, and was the lead in a recently commissioned HERA project to model the potential economic impacts of Construction 4.0 in New Zealand.

8 October 2021: Hugely important tech for the farmer is about to get introduced to the world stage. Lincoln Agritech has developed what they call smarter irrigation tech which helps farmers save water without loss of yield. Trials have shown savings of 25 percent and they're now looking to sell it in the United States.

Lincoln Agritech CEO Peter Barrowclough joins NewsTalk ZB's Mike Yardley.

27 September 2021: Aotearoa New Zealand Governments, current and former, have broken human rights promises when it comes to housing and health.

That's from a new report by Motu Research, which has outlined multiple failings of the government to meet internationally-agreed standards for living.

Radio New Zealand's Māni Dunlop spoke to Motu research analyst Livvy Mitchell - who said the country was facing a "human rights crisis".

This time, talking with Paora Tapihana A.K.A – Paul Tapsell. Paora is a Professor and Researcher at Takarangi Research where they are focused on social science research with an aim to support local indigenous communities (tribal marae) and their re-engagement with ancestral resources to improve Māori well-being nationwide.

18 August 2021: In this episode of Stirring the Pot Nick, a Māori artist well respected in Māori ringa toi, Kevin, a Project Manager at Gisborne Engineering, and from the WSP team – Adam, a Senior Engineering Geologist based in the Hawke's Bay, and Tim, a Senior Structural Engineer in Auckland, discuss building Te Whitinga o Tamataipunoa – an eight-metre tall monument that is part of a project by the New Zealand Transport Agency to replace the original one-lane Motu Bridge.

16 August 2021: New research shows the potential for a booming seaweed sector in New Zealand is tied up in red tape and resource consents.

The report from the Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge found that globally seaweed production has tripled over the last two decades and now makes up a third of all aquatic farming. But it found Aotearoa's seaweed sector is tiny and constrained by regulation and supply. The report's project leader, and Cawthron Institute expert Serean Adams told Charlotte Cook, the report will help people who want to get into the industry.

Jayden is a Contract Manager & Director whose passion is solving technical design and construction issues with the client to deliver the best value outcome for stakeholders.

21 July 2021: In this episode of Stirring the Pot HERA are continuing their focus on uncovering how Boards are meeting the commitments of Te Tiriti in today’s workplace.

This time speaking with the Chair of the New Zealand Construction Industry Council Graham Burke, and the Director of Māori Pasifica for Vertical Horizonz New Zealand, Phil Hokianga. Together they co-chair ConCOVE, the Construction and Infrastructure Centre of Vocational Excellence.

7 July 2021: Shaun Ogilvie, a Māori Business Development consultant for Cawthron Institute has been featured in a recently published book ‘Ngā kete Mātauranga: Māori scholars at the research interface‘, which tells the stories of 24 Māori academics, revealing what being Māori has meant for them in their work.

Shaun said in a recent Cawthron Radio interview that it was about their personal experiences, "spanning that bridge between Mātauranga and western science.”

Researchers at Nelson's Cawthron Institute are co-leading an international collaboration looking into this puzzling phenomenon. The Institute's Dr Simon Stewart joins Radio New Zealand's Jesse Mulligan to explain what could be behind this scientific mystery.

25 May 2021: A study of more than 2000 eight year-olds has found nearly half are sleeping in bedrooms that are too cold. The world-first research was a joint project between the building researchers BRANZ and the University of Auckland longitudinal study "Growing Up in New Zealand".

In a recent interview with Radio New Zealand's Jesse Mulligan, Cawthron research lead Dr Deanna Clement explained that with such a massive ocean estate, New Zealand remains largely in the dark as to the whereabouts of marine mammals.

8 April 2021: New Zealand Brain Research Institute Director Dr Michael MacAskill was recently interviewed by RNZ's Jesse Mulligan on their latest research into Parkinson's.

Michael says some people’s Parkinson's disease progresses very rapidly while others have a more benign course of Parkinson’s and they want to find out why it happens faster or slower for different people.

19 March 2021: RNZ Country Life - If Romeo Bragato were alive today, he'd be pleased as punch to visit the Bragato Research Institute, a wine laboratory set up in his name just on a year ago.

The European viticulturalist was said to be disillusioned and frustrated when he left New Zealand in the early 1900s.

His experimental winemaking here and advice to the government on planting grapevines was largely ignored and his recommendations lay forgotten for over 60 years.
